The final word on PJOC 2003

CadetStuff

Greetings to all,

It's been 36 hours since the decision was made to cancel all the PJOCs for 2003. Why the activities were cancelled is no longer the important issue but what we are going to do next is; and that is to press on. This cancellation has only increased the determination of the PJOC staff to use the additional time we now have to prepare a quality series of activities that will meet the current CAP standards while remaining the program that we Pararescuemen expect it to be for 2004 and beyond.

This cancellation is as much a disappointment to us as it is to you Cadets. But there are still alternatives, and each of you should make every effort to take advantage of what is still available. Each activity has a staff of Senior members dedicated to only one thing: ensuring that, for a week or two, that particular activity is a tremendous Cadet experience. If you pooh pooh any of the alternatives then you are only denying yourself one more opportunity to learn more about others, as well as learning about yourself.

For many of you this will be your last summer as a Cadet and you need to make the best of it. We will miss you but then everyone grows up (even me). It's unfortunate that we won't all have this final summer of your training but this minor disappointment can always be looked at as another facet of training.

This additional year is also an opportunity for you Cadets to further prepare yourselves for PJOC-2004. Woe be unto you who don't take advantage of this extra time and show up next year unprepared! Since we are taking advantage of this extra time we expect you Cadets to do the same. Work hard now for next year and you will find PJOC-2004 (and beyond!) to be one of the easier times of your Cadet career.

See you next year,

W.J.Preble
TSgt USAF (ret)
Pararescue (69-89)
S/M CAP
PJOC Staff (99-present)

Y'know, the English guy in "Gattica"?) to say, "This was on CadetStuff.org and I stole it like it ain't no thang!" and then do the River Dance.
