A Guide to Promotion Boards

Major Matt Heusser, CAP

Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear when Capt Matt Heusser graced us with his first series of articles! Here, in one easy-to-swallow dose, are Matt's three articles on how to run a Promotion Board and ensure that when the commander puts his John Hancock on the achievement form, he's signing off on a Grade-A certified ready-to-promote Cadet!

Part 1 About Promotion Boards - Why a promotion board? - Recommended Reading for Board Members - What are the regulations? - What is a CAPF 50?

Part 2 What are the expectations? (Curry through Mitchell)

Part 3 What are the expectations? (Flight Commander though Pre-Spaatz)

Matt Heusser was a CAP cadet for most of the 1990’s, spending most of his "cadet-hood" in the Maryland Wing. Moving to Michigan four months prior to his 21st birthday, his oddest feeling was the day he woke up, saw the uniform with the three diamonds hanging in his closet, and realized that he would never wear it again. Currently, he's a Special Activities Officer for Michigan Wing's Cadet Programs Directorate. He's available by email at Matthew.Heusser@mks.net.

Y'know, the English guy in "Gattica"?) to say, "This was on CadetStuff.org and I stole it like it ain't no thang!" and then do the River Dance.
