All the old garbage you can handle!

:: It's July Baby! Summertime!
And nothing says summer like a fat guy in a thong! Yee ha! So pardon us if we serve up a little eye candy (and since CS doesn't want to be seen as sexist, it's for the ladies!). Is it hot in here, or is it just us? ... July 2005 is shaping up to be ACA month here on CadetStuff. What's the ACA? We're glad you asked, Slappy! The ACA is the American Cadet Alliance and it's only the oldest corps of Cadets in the country! Duh! Now don't you feel silly? You're darn tootin' you do! Anyway, what is CadetStuff here for if not to fill in those knowledge gaps (and to raise the ambient temp with pics like that one. Bow-chicca-bow-bow!). Here for your edification is CadetStuff's profile of the ACA. Find out more about what might be the Next Big Thing in Cadet programs! ... The ACA coverage continues with an expose that rips the clothes off the ACA's 'parachuting program', exposing its thong, beer belly and cottage cheese thighs - or is that the picture? Oh well, no matter! Want to know more about ACA Cadet jump wings? Take a leap into this article. ... And completing the ACA hat trick is a news item about an ACA Cadet who coined the CSM of the Army! Can you say 'balls'? Good, because w're going golfing later and we go through those things like crazy! Look out for the water hazard! ... Speaking of hazards: here's a little write up about the Southern California Invitational Drill Meet by our own Elliott Korona. Repeat after us, now: "This is my rifle, this is my gun..." ... Korona follows up with a major apple polishing called "How I Learned to Lead". Hey! He didn't mention CadetStuff once! Potzer! ... Finally, we've dug up a link about a toy. Toy? Yep, but the VertiBird was more than just a toy, it was a simulator. Read more to find out! ... And, hey! The Good Doctor has dropped in to give us an exam, TWICE! Owww, my achin' love handles! Try not to clench up while you check out Dr. Drill's double discussion of color guards and music along with a revealing take on saluting Medal of Honor recipients! ... Well, that's it Kids! Now we're off to make some extra cash shaking Daddy's little money maker . We're available for pool parties, kid's birthdays and Bar Mitzvahs. Queue up 'You Sexy Thing', because we're outta here!
Activities :: The Southern California Invitational Drill Meet
It ends up being a flawless performance, no dropping rifles and no one misses a spin. A sigh of relief on each member of the rifle team can be seen and they've earned it. The competition for them is over but the saber team and the color guard have yet to perform, but their performances are not far away. Continue reading
News & Events :: Exchange of Challenge Coins Comes Full Circle
For 15-year-old Colin Harper, the Army Cadet Corps of the American Cadet Alliance has taken him places he'd never imagined. The Cadet Sergeant, and acting First Sergeant of the Military Cadets of New England which drills monthly at Camp Fogarty, RI, has traveled to Puerto Rico, presented anti-drug presentations in the Pentagon, completed the ACA's NCO Leadership Development Academy, and stood side-by-side with Generals and Sergeants Major, all while wearing his uniform as an Army Cadet. Leadership :: How I Learned to Lead
korona.jpgIn Civil Air Patrol you run into all sorts of people. Some can be good influences and teach you everything there is to know like Lt Gen Searock did for me and then some can be bad and teach you what kind of person you shouldn't be. The words, I order you, should never be uttered by a true leader. Continue reading
Links :: All I want for Christmas...
promosmall.jpgIf you were a kid in the mid-1970s (I realize this doesn't include ANY of you little weasels, but pay attention anyway because this is cool! - Ed.), you either had one of these, or a kid on your block did: Peter Hirschberg has written an excellent simulator of the venerable Mattel VertiBird. What's a VertiBird? Only the very cool and now very rare helicopter toy that actually flew using true rotary-wing flight dynamics. Heck, it was the VertiBird that got our Managing Editor geeked on those ugly things in the first place. And Pete nailed it with this simulator: right down to the cheesy styrofoam Coast Guard "ship" and all the nifty things you could pick up with the hook. And best of all, since it's virtual you won't try to land it on your cousin's hair, entangling him severely in the rotor drive mechanism...
Activities :: Do They REALLY Sky-dive in the ACA?
While skydiving is recognized by the ACA, it is not an official ACA activity. So, six Officers and Cadets gathered, on their own time to complete ground school in preparation for their United States Parachute Association (USPA) approved "First Jump" program. Jumping, rolling and wondering were the topics of the day. Rain, high winds and more than a bit of apprehension would keep the (not-so) fearless crew from jumping on the day of training. Profiles :: The American Cadet Alliance
Nine years after the turn of the last century in New York City, an Army captain named James H. C. Smyth created an organization he called 'Colonel Cody's Boy Scouts'. But, it turned out that New York's boys wanted a more military program, so shortly after its founding, Colonel Cody's Boy Scouts was reorganized as the American Naval and Marine Scouts.
