All the old garbage you can handle!

News & Events :: Know any Stuffers in the Box?
CadetStuffers Stanford & Winslow in IraqBecause if you do, we want to know about it. We've already had several of our own do their part in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kuwait, and we'd like to set up a little something to honor them and those that are there now or are going soon. So, if that's you or someone you know, drop us a line, send us a picture and tell us what unit you're with and we'll put your mug on the site. And, hey, thanks a lot!
:: Its MayDay!
We're not going to Moscow. It's Czechoslovakia, it's like going into Wisconsin.
Boy, are we red in the face: nearly two years ago we said "Hey, you know what? We're gonna publish articles when we get 'em, not just once a month!" That was a great idea - not! We're blaming the whole thing on that Stanford guy. We tried sending him to Iraq, but the Army didn't want him either.

Anyway, we're back to the classic monthly push and May is kickin' it with a tasty groove! First up: Summer is just around the corner, and with it, Summer Encampment (Duh.). C/2d Lt Nathan Scalia's survival tips are just the ticket. We'll be seeing you at Tribal Council, bring your torch, Sparky. ... Dr. Drill graces us with a double-barreled blast of creamy marching goodness. First, a discussion of stopping on one foot or the other, then words concerning half-stepping (while marching, knuckleheads!). Nice shot, Doc! ... Greg "The Armenian Torpedo" Boyajian suggests some methods for preparing for Pararescue Orientation Course. If you're going to PJOC, you'd better pay attention, bacause his says 'Desert Eagle Point Five Oh'! ... Much like the finale of the 1812 Overture, CadetStuff's own Maj. Matt Heusser fires off the eighteenth (but not nearly final!) installment of his magnum opus "Leading the Way". Matt makes that Tolstoy clown look like a piker! ... C/CMSgt Stephanie Keane swoops in on her broom with her army of flying monkeys to deliver her Cheeze essay, "Which Comes First, the Chicken or the Egg?" (Funny, we thought flying monkeys were organized into squadrons...) ... Assistant Features Editor John Knowles begs for help with his boots, we think, and at the same time asks you, dear readers, to step to the plate and contribute an article or three to CadetStuff. ... Last but way not least: Some words of wisdom for those of you who want the Air Force's E-Ticket ride: "Fuhgedaboudit Dave!"
Leadership :: Where To Begin? You tell us!
We have all experienced good and bad leadership. It doesn't matter where; school, CAP, ROTC, or the Girl Scouts, we all knew who we thought was a good leader and who couldn't pour water out of a boot with the instructions printed on the heel. Continue reading
Leadership :: Which Comes First, The Chicken or the Egg (I mean: Leader or Follower)?
Leadership and followership are essential to each other. Without the skills and qualities that a person gains as a follower, they could not lead effectively. But with the development of such qualities as self-discipline, responsibility and motivation, a person will be able to develop their leadership and become a competent leader that will be looked up to and willingly followed. Leadership :: Leading the Way: XVIII - Who lost Gettysburg?
The first major breakdown actually came well before the battle; in fact, it was chain-of-command problem. So let's start out with a discussion of the Confederate Chain-of-Command. Continue reading

Drill :: Quicktime on the Uptake
Dear Dr. Drill, In AFMAN 36-2203, paragraph 4.12 (Column Half Right/Left), after pivoting it says, "The airman then takes up the half step and continues in a half step until each member in his or her rank is abreast of each other. Then all members of that rank resume a full 24-inch step." It does not specify as to whether the flight resumes quick time on their own or the command forward march is to be given. Which is the correct way? Continue reading
Drill :: On The Left or The Right? Just Stop!
Dr. Drill, A new tech sergeant has come into our squadron. He is a very experienced drill kind of guy and told our flight sergeant that he was calling halt on the wrong foot. Our flight sergeant called it on the right, while the tech sergeant told him that he should call it on the left. Who is right? Continue reading
Activities :: Surviving Basic Encampment
scalia.jpgThere are quite a few "Surviving..." articles here on CadetStuff.org. You'll find them on Hawk, Blue Beret, etc. However, I noticed that there are no articles that help you survive the first step: Basic Encampment. So I took it upon myself to write that article. Continue reading
