Striking from the carrier Hornet from hundreds of miles off the coast, a squadron of specially-prepared B-25 Mitchell bombers and their well-trained crews under the command of Jimmy Doolittle put the smack down in a one-way raid that let our enemies know that they were not out of our reach.
