Squadron Alert! : 18. Forest Fire!
As he watched them work, Tom breathed a sigh of thankfulness. Here, once again, the CAP training was paying dividends. The two Dawsons, schooled in communications, were expertly laying out a panel reply to the plane flying above them.

Squadron Alert! : 17. Ordeal of Doubt
To Tom's surprise, Ed Dawson was one of those who spent a great deal of time around the headquarters. He was often to be seen poring over a book on aviation or tinkering with equipment of some sort. He became, in fact, something of a nuisance to Tom, since he was frequently borrowing materials from the supply room to practice with or to study.

B-58 Hustler Rendezvous
We found this site during a discussion of the genealogy of the B-1 Lancer. It turns out that both the B-1A and the B-58 used individual crew escape capsules like the B-70 Valkyrie. Both the B-70 and the B-1 were designed by North American Aircraft, which later became Rockwell International. The B-58 was designed by Convair, which later became General Dynamics. The more things change, the more they stay the same! Anyway, this is an outstandingly constructed site chock-full of information about America's first supersonic bomber. The B-58 was capable of speed in excess of Mach 2 and set many speed and altitude records, yet was retired after only ten years of service!

This is your primary responsibility that comes with your rank.

Don't you ever get mad?
I slipped the WonderBar under the handle and pulled up - hard. After a few seconds the lid came up. The resulting suction caused by the partial vacuum behind the lid splashed about a half-gallon of scalding hot soup all over the stove top and all over my hands. Happily, I snatched my hands mostly out of harm's way, ending up with minor burns on the tips of a few fingers. A little aloe took care of it nicely.
