Squadron Alert! : 4. Patrol Flight
Just then the drone of an airplane motor came to their ears. The trio moved to the front of the hangar, spotted the approaching craft and watched it circle over the airport. A moment later it nosed down and made a perfect landing on the strip, finally taxiing to the hangar door where the roaring motor was cut.

It's the May issue of CadetStuff and we're feeling sassy!
And with good reason: we've nailed an interview with Pararescueman MSgt George Miller the legend of PJOC! (Sack dance begins!) MSgt Miller talks about being a PJ, the history of the PJOC schools and what you can expect if you visit him in His House (Hint: No matter what you expect, you're wrong!).
Going to National Blue Beret? Our own C/Maj Mike Crockett explores various body functions and somehow relates it to the world's largest airshow! Take a look at his Five Tips for NBB - if you dare!
LtCol Ron Padavan graces us with his presence again by explaining how to hang on to the people you've cheated - uhh - conned - uhh - recruited.
Maj Bob Haase, Michigan Wing's l'enfant terrible de moulage, presents his Britney Spears-inspired investigation of motivation Dance? I'll show you a dance! Fall in for drill!
And (could it get any better?) yet another installment of Squadron Alert!
But wait, there's more! New Cadet Life photos and a new poll about encampment. And, as always, previous poll results here.

What Do I Do With Them Now?
Recruiting is one of the most important things we can do in CAP. Without it, all our other missions fall by the wayside for lack of support. Try and run an actual search mission with only 5 people. Try and run a good cadet program with only 3 cadets and 2 seniors. Yes, we need to recruit new members to our organization, however, once we have them, do we do all we can to keep them?

Squadron Alert! : 3. Interest Mounts
Within a matter of hours Tom became acquainted with more schoolmates than he had met in the six weeks since he had been enrolled in the school. On all sides, in all classes, it was evident that there was no lack of interest in flying, for he was the target of an almost endless stream of questions. To all who queried him, he gave the best replies he could devise, at the same time acknowledging that his information was sketchy and telling his interrogators that they could not hope for specific details until Mr. Tolliver heard from the CAP authorities.

Commander Confusion!
Dr. Drill:
I am having trouble finding in the AFMAN 36-2003 drill manual where the person in command of the flight should march. I know it used to be centered on either side of the flight, however I was told that this changed when the manual was updated.

MSgt George Miller III Interview
Thinking about attending PJOC? Before you send in that enrollment form, take a word of advice from the man who runs APJOC: twenty-one year veteran of CAP's PJOC program and USAF Pararescueman MSgt George Miller: "If a Cadet is attending PJOC they need to get into excellent physical condition. They should be able to pass our PT evaluation."

Surviving Blue Beret
Don't shave your beret inside the barracks. I know you're excited, and you want your beret to look normal ASAP, but think about it. Sure, you may get your beret de-fuzzified, but where do all those fuzzies go? Right into your bunk area for you to clean up. What's even worse you ask? Simply that you have just effectively ruined your razor. Make it easy on yourself, shave your berets outside, using the razors provided to you.

Personnel Inspection
Inspecting your people is a basic part of being a leader. Inspections will not only show who doesn't care about regulations, but will also let you know who doesn't know enough about regulations and needs more training. At activities, inspecting your people can also tell you if someone is ill, tired or unclean. Part of leadership is taking care of your people; you should know personally if any of your Cadets is having problems. Finally, inspections are a good way for a commander to get some face to face time with his people.
