Dear Dr. Drill,
I'm having a hard time finding the CAP Drill and Ceremonies Manual. You've said in the past that the AFMAN 36-2203 has all the answers we need, but that is an USAF regulation. Does the CAP manual have exactly the same information? Are the two manuals actually one, with CAP borrowing the exact same publication?

Dr. Drill responds
Dear Brian,
Did you ever hear of 'Tom Swifties'? They're an adverbial pun, and as far as I know, they have no relationship to the genius inventor star of the juvenile adventure books.
Anyway, rather than go into a long discussion of how they're formed, I'll just throw a few out there. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it:
- "I feel weak and dizzy," Tom said faintly.
- "Pancakes for breakfast," Tom said flatly.
- Take a right and then a left at the cemetery, Tom said gravely.
Pretty bad, huh? Now, why did Dr. Drill subject you to that? So that you'd get this joke:
- "Of course I'm wearing clean underwear!" Dr. Drill said briefly.
And to answer your question briefly: Yes and yes.
Sincerely,
Dr. Drill
